Error when Onboarding a Billing Account

Overview

When registering a Billing Account in CloudFix, you see the below error:

Received response status [FAILED] from custom resource.
Message returned: Your account is not a member of an organization.
(RequestId: ########-####-####-####-############)

Solution

This issue occurs because you have not setup AWS Organizations, but are rather using a single management account.

You should see your Organization ID, Management account email address, and Management account ID when you visit the AWS Organizations in your AWS console.

If this information is not seen, then you should first setup AWS Organizations, and then proceed with the onboarding of the Billing Account.
