Cloudfix Footprint in your AWS Accounts

Overview

You want to understand the usage that CloudFix does of your AWS infrastructure.

Information

Cloudfix footprint is minimal and it only uses the below listed AWS native technologies, it will NOT deploy any user agents or third-party code:

  1. AWS CUR - Used to map the used resources and their annual spending;
  2. AWS Cloudwatch metrics - Used for performance analysis needed to identify resources that are safe to optimize;
  3. AWS S3 - We create an S3 bucket to host the CUR data needed to generate recommendations;
  4. AWS Athena - Used to host the recommendation data that will be used by Cloudfix;
  5. AWS Glue -  Used for data transformation and consolidation;
  6. AWS Lambda -  Used for event generation and automation;
  7. AWS CloudFormation - Used to deploy and manage the roles and resources CloudFix needs in your account, including nested stacks and StackSets when rolling permissions out across your organization's accounts;
  8. AWS Systems Manager (SSM) - Used to deploy the Automation runbooks that apply fixes, and to run them as SSM Automation executions against your resources.
